Nirvana - Running - Nirvana - Running - It goes on…

Talking about Nirvana and Running, it often comes to a point where one would wonder - “Did Nirvana boost my running or did my running boost the state of nirvana in me?”

Have you ever thought how it would be if you were to start your long run with the runner’s high?

Nirvana Running

Many runners have had the opportunity to experience a state of euphoria while running. While the actual state that they feel varies immensely for each individual there is a common feeling associated with the term “runner’s high”. When a person is asked about runner’s high they typically will say that it a pleasant state that a runner might experience after a certain distance. This is a state of bliss and happiness.

After the point a runner forgets the pain or the strain and is in a state of mind to continue running for a longer time. This is comparable to the state of Nirvana.

Nirvana or the feeling of bliss and happiness can be reached after a session of deep meditation or when one practices meditation regularly. For people who enjoy listening to music, running with a portable music player (viz., iPod) is something that helps them forget the pain and strain. This works similar during group running sessions as well - where we never get to realize or feel the strain or pain (well….in this case there are more reasons attached. We shall discuss this in a separate post).

Nirvana (through meditation) and Running are complementary to each other. Every runner gets to experience the state of Nirvana in a long run.
